1. We are One Big Family
Relationships aren’t something we do, it’s who we are. Our goal is to make every student feel welcome from the moment they step onto our campus to the moment they leave. We don’t want to be a friendly church, we want to be a church where you have friends! Continued growth happens through conversations and relationships that help guide us all closer to Jesus. That’s why connect groups are such a big deal to us in Heartland Youth.
2. We Are Fueled by the Holy Spirit
At our core, we know we must do all we can to cultivate the presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe in His miracle working, life-changing, mountain moving power in our life and we need that same power in our events and services. We will be a student ministry that loves altar time, that lays hands on one another, and believes in the usage of spiritual gifts. We will be a student ministry burning with passion in our prayer lives. We stand, we don’t sit during worship. We come to the front, we don’t hang back, because we want to be as close as possible to all that God has for us.
3. We Care About The One
Statistics say that 77% of people who make a decision to follow Jesus will do so before the age of 20. Although many overlook or discredit young people, we truly believe that we exist to build a generation of world changers who will be lifelong followers of Jesus. We will do everything short of sin to see our school, friends, family, and city transformed by the power of Jesus, until there isn’t 1 left.
4. We Can Be Great Right Now
Empowerment leads to growth, fulfillment, and maximum achievement. God has designed our students with unique personality, gifts, talents, and abilities that make their calling specific and point to their destiny. Our desire is to help them discover that and empower them to lead in a way that will be fulfilling so that they love serving. We are not separate from Sunday; we love serving our church! We will equip students with training, resources, and opportunities in order to help them lead. Because teens don’t have to wait to be great, they can be great right now.
In this service, we worship together during main service in our student section, then are dismissed to the student loft where we play a group game, share a dedicated message just for our students, and finish by breaking into discipleship groups. We can’t wait to see your student there!
